SXSW is probably the most well known music event in the world and it is one of the best places to network. Though it is too late to apply to ‘officially’ perform you can always go and find a place to play yourself, even in the hotel lobby, crowds of music industry people are everywhere. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
WOMEX – the World Music Expo – is the most international music meeting in the world and the biggest conference of the global music scene, featuring a trade fair, talks, films and a showcase festival. This year it is taking place in the beautiful Canary Islands of Spain, off northwestern Africa, apply here to take part.

The sheer volume of music industry events in the world is growing exponentially every year so try and find one’s that are local to you first. It’s hard work to get motivated and apply but in the end you will be happy that you did.
